Silent dream
Maryam is 13 years old and live in Dorouh region of Khorasan in the easternmost region of Iran. Since the day that she left her mother’s dark womb and came to this world, addiction was her everlasting attendant. Due to the frequent consumption of opium, her body has been weakened and sometimes she has seizures. It is about 2 years that she has gotten rejected from school due to being mocked by her classmates and being incapable of paying tuition, and the regret of having no friend and the grief of dropping out of school are seen in her eyes. Thinking about the past life and the good moments that no longer exist, and the fear of a future that never seems to come, flows at every single moment of her life. Though bright days are the distant and unattainable dream for her, the black and dark days that dissolve her wishes little by little are closer to her.
